Making Cool Interface Orb

In the following tutorial, you will learn to make clean interface orb. Below is what we are going to get at the end of tutorial.

1 Create a new document around 400px by 400px in size with a white background. Set your Background color to white and Foreground color to light blue. I used #428CDE. Create a new transparent layer on top and make it active. Now select your Elliptical Marquee Tool. Holding Shift Key draw a circle with the Marquee Tool on the center of your document. Now the hit CTRL + Enter Keys.

2 With layer 1's transparency still selected create new Layer. Now Press ALT + Enter Keys. This will fill the layers with blue color. The image should be lookin' like the third picture. Now we are going to make ORB.

3 Layer 2 still selected create new Layer. Now grab your Linear Gradient Tool. On the top select the mode Foreground to Transparent and lower down the Opacity to 50% and check the Diether and Transparency Box like the picture above. Now make a Gradient from bottom to top. And change the Blending Mode to Linear Dodge of Layer 3. Now it's giving some look.

4 Create new layer. With new Elliptical Marquee Tool. Make a circle like the picture at left and hit CTRL + Enter Keys. It will become white. Now lower down this layer's opacity to 20. It will be giving good effect now.

5 Now we are going to add some reality. Select Layer 1 and double click it and add the effects mentioned on left.

6 Select Layer 2 add the blending options at left.

7 Yes, It's looking perfect. Here is the final result. I am sure you will like it.
