Creating web 2.0 logos

In this tutorial, you will learn how to make those web 2.0 text using Photoshop. Below is what we are going to get at the end of tutorial.

1 First create a 400 by 80 new document in Photoshp. Now fill the background layer with some greyish color, I used #D4D4D4.

2 Now grab text tool and write your text. Always use light colors if you are making a true web 2.0 website. I used #1168B9 as was creating blue text.

3 Once you have written your text, double click text layer in layer palette. In layer style window apply following blending options,

4 At this point, your image should look like mine,

5 Now create a new layer over your text layer. With new layer selected, press CTRL key and click on your text layer. This will select your text layer's transparency as shown in image below.

6 Select white as your background color and press Ctrl + backspace keys. This will fill the new layer with white color. Grab Rectangular Marquee Tool, select the half part of new layer horizontally and hit delete key.

7 Finally, drop the opacity of new layer to 25%. Your web 2.0 text is ready, now try to experiment by changing fonts and colors. Result is,
